Terms of use

1. Purpose

These terms set out the rights, duties and responsibilities between you and Trogro (representative Young Kon Kim, Korean business registration no. 647-19-01998; "we") for the Ollie service: the website olliecar.com, the Telegram bot @OllieCarBot and the car-phone app ("the service"). The Korean version is the primary text.

2. Definitions

• "You" means anyone using the service under these terms.
• A "member" is someone who applied and was admitted by us.
• The "car phone" is a smartphone you leave in your car, with its app, connected to an OBD reader to read the car's data.
• An "answer" is any conversation, guidance or alert the service gives you, produced with AI models or otherwise.

3. Posting and effect

These terms are always available from the "Terms of Use" link at the bottom of the website (/terms). By using the service you agree to them. Anything these terms do not cover follows the applicable law and ordinary commercial practice.

4. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms within the law. We announce a change, with its effective date and reason, on the website and in Ollie 7 days before it takes effect, or 30 days before for a change that is worse for you. If you do not accept a change, you can stop using the service and delete your account.

5. What the service does

Ollie gives your car a name and a personality so you can talk to it, and offers:

• answers to questions about your car and reminders about maintenance
• a place for service and repair records, receipts and car documents
• a second opinion on repair quotes and information about shops (such as ratings)
• with a car phone connected: alerts about the car's condition (mileage, fault codes and so on) and a driving log
• if you connect them: reminders using your Google Calendar and Gmail

The service is in testing, and features may be added or changed without notice. Important changes that are worse for you follow article 14.

6. Who can use it

• You must be at least 14 years old.
• The service is for people who drive, own or look after a car. Use it only for cars you own or are entitled to use.

7. Joining and your account

• You join with your Telegram account, and we review and admit applications. We may delay or decline an application, for example because of the size of the test.
• Give accurate information when you join and while you use the service.
• Your account is tied to your Telegram account, so keep that account and your devices secure. When you share a car with others, what they can see follows the service's own explanation.

8. Acceptable use

You must not:

• track or collect information about another person's car, location or driving without their consent
• use another person's personal data or account
• disrupt the service, its servers or other users, or send excessive automated requests
• reverse-engineer the service or get around its security
• use the service for anything unlawful or against public order
• use the service in a way that puts safety at risk, such as operating it while driving

9. What the answers are

• Answers are general information for your reference. They are not a substitute for advice from a mechanic, lawyer, tax adviser, financial adviser or other professional.
• Answers are produced by AI and can be wrong, out of date or not right for your car. We do not guarantee that they are accurate, complete or fit for a particular purpose.
• Decide on maintenance, repairs and safety yourself, following your car maker's guidance and a qualified mechanic. If something affects safety, such as a warning light, an unusual noise, or trouble with braking or steering, do not wait for Ollie: stop somewhere safe and call a mechanic or roadside assistance.
• Third-party information such as shop ratings and quote comparisons is based on public data and is for reference only. We do not endorse any shop or product.

10. The car phone and the OBD reader

• The car-phone app only reads the car's data. It never sends commands that change the car's settings or clear fault codes.
• You buy, install, wire and mount the car phone and the OBD reader yourself. Install them where they do not get in the way of driving or block an airbag. Check with the car maker or dealer how an installation affects your warranty.
• Cars support different data, and some features may not work on some cars.
• Do not use your phone while driving.

11. Third-party services

The service works with Telegram (chat and sign-in), AI model providers (Anthropic, with OpenAI as a backup), Google (place information, and your Calendar and Gmail if you connect them) and map services such as Naver, Kakao and TMAP. Their own terms and privacy policies also apply when you use them. We are responsible for problems caused by an outage or change in a third-party service only as far as article 15 says. Processing by our processors and transfers abroad follow the privacy policy (/privacy).

12. Fees

The service is free while it is in testing. If we introduce paid plans, we will announce the price, what is included, and the payment and refund terms 30 days before they start, and you will not be charged unless you separately agree and sign up.

13. Intellectual property

• The rights in the service, its design and software, and the Ollie name and logo belong to us.
• You keep the rights in the photos, documents and records you add. You allow us to store and process them only as far as needed to provide the service.
• Car makers' and products' names and trademarks shown in the service belong to their owners. We are not affiliated with any car maker.

14. Changing or suspending the service

• We may change or temporarily suspend all or part of the service for good reason, such as testing, maintenance or an outage at a third-party service.
• If we close the service, we will tell you 30 days before and explain how you can get a copy of your records.

15. Limits on our liability

• For the free service, we are not liable for loss that happens without intent or negligence on our part.
• We are also not liable in the following cases, unless we acted intentionally or with gross negligence: force majeure such as a natural disaster; a problem caused by you; loss from following an answer (article 9) without checking with a professional; loss from installing or using the car phone without following article 10.
• Nothing in these terms excludes our liability for intent or gross negligence, or limits rights the law guarantees you.

16. Leaving, and suspension

• You can leave at any time by sending /delete CONFIRM in your chat with Ollie. Your data, and the records of cars you own alone, are then deleted as the privacy policy describes.
• If you break article 8, we may restrict your use or end the agreement after telling you why. For an urgent security reason we may restrict first and tell you afterwards. You can object at hello@olliecar.com.

17. Privacy

We protect your personal data under the law and our privacy policy (/privacy).

18. Governing law and courts

These terms and any dispute about the service are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, and a lawsuit goes to the court that has jurisdiction under Korea's Civil Procedure Act. This does not take away rights that the mandatory law of the country you live in gives you.
